The EWC (European Waste Catalogue) code is a six-digit numeric system used to classify each type of waste based on its origin and production process.
It is a useful tool that allows the producer of special waste to: uniquely identify the origin and nature of the waste, define the legal transport, recovery, or disposal chain, demonstrate traceability, and fulfill legal obligations to avoid penalties.
